Reforestation Project and Memorial Trees in North Carolina
Sympathy Gifts That Live Forever
Spanning more than 33,000 acres, Bladen Lakes State Forest is the largest state-owned forest in North Carolina. Reforestation efforts are currently planned on this land to support the health of the overall forest ecosystem and ensure that native trees can thrive. A mix of loblolly pine and longleaf pine will be planted to not only build a more sustainable forest but also provide habitat for many different species of birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians — including the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker.

One large tree can provide a day’s supply of oxygen for up to 4 people, while 2 ac. of forest provides enough for 500+ people each year.
IMPROVE SOIL
Trees break down organic matter then release nutrients back into the soil, which counteracts plants that take these nutrients out of the soil.
PREVENT DISASTERS
Tree root systems absorb water and stabilize soil, which help prevent erosion, flooding, and other natural disasters from happening.
